Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity
• Treat an average of 25 patients per day in a Level 3 Trauma Center emergency department
• Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
• Administer standard ER medications and drips
• Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry strips (no monitor technician available)
• Will be trained to perform Point of Care lab testing
• Work alongside respiratory therapy available 24/7 for breathing treatments and ABGs
• Collaborate with unit technicians who support unit secretary work, assist nurses, and help with triage
• Floating within regional/zone emergency departments may be required
• 2-3 days of unit/department specific orientation required; must be in state for full orientation week
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS, NIHSS, TNCC

Facility:

This facility operates a busy emergency department designated as a Level 3 Trauma Center, STEMI Receiving Center, and Stroke Center. The emergency department treats an average of 25 patients per day in a mixed-acuity environment with integrated ER holds. The facility features 24/7 respiratory therapy support and utilizes EPIC as its electronic charting system, maintaining a strong focus on comprehensive emergency care across the region.
