Opportunity:
Sonographer
Job Details:
• Work 2nd shift with variable scheduling: some weeks shifts are 8 hours, some weeks shifts are 12 hours with occasional weekend call
• Flexibility to work 4x10-hour shifts to accommodate long weekends when other travelers have coordinated coverage
• Perform a wide range of ultrasound studies including OB limited, OB 2nd and 3rd trimester, OB follow-up, OB transvaginal, GYN, pelvic non-OB, abdominal, abdominal limited, breast, soft tissue, thyroid, scrotum and contents/duplex, venous doppler, carotid, retroperitoneal, thoracentesis, paracentesis, ultrasound-guided breast biopsy, FNA, venous doppler extremity, and fetal BPP without NST
• Average 6-8 scans/studies per day with option to add on extras
• May be required to perform ultrasound in the OR for cases such as abruption on rare occasions
• May be asked to assist with transferring patients in other modalities when extra hands are needed and not actively performing an exam
• No floating to other departments
• On-call requirement only when the other two travelers are out of town simultaneously, with a 20-minute call response time
• Occasional weekend call when other two travelers are both unavailable
• Holiday scheduling is flexible - traveler may choose to work or take the day off when outpatient scheduling is closed
• Responsible for cleaning rooms and machines, stocking rooms, checking for outdated supplies, and ensuring a safe environment
• Must be comfortable with non-echo and vascular studies
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Must provide compassionate care with attention to detail, quality imaging, and ability to use computer technology
• EMR/PACS systems used: McKesson, CRTIS, and Meditech
• Department equipment includes Philips Epiq 5, Epiq Elite, and Mindray (backup)
• Gray scrubs required, not provided by facility
• Required certifications: BLS and RDMS
• Preferred certifications: RDMS (OB/GYN), RDMS (AB), RVT
• North Dakota state license required
• No IV starts required
• No previous travel experience required
Facility:
This acute care facility operates at a Critical Access Hospital level and provides comprehensive imaging services including ultrasound and echo. The department currently features one echo room and one general ultrasound room, with plans to expand to two general ultrasound rooms and an echo room in the near future. The facility utilizes teleradiology services available 24 hours and maintains a nursing supervisor on-site at all times. The outpatient scheduling model is structured to ensure productivity while maintaining flexibility for both staff and patients.
