Opportunity:

RN - Neuro/Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work on a 30-bed unit consisting of 22 Acute Care beds and 8 Neuro Stepdown beds
• Patient ratios of 6:1 on Acute Care and 4:1 on Neuro Stepdown
• Unit staffed with 1 RN Charge covering all of 10 Tower, 1-2 Techs, and a unit secretary
• Acute Care equipment includes vital sign machines, high flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction, and various drips with a focus on stroke care
• Neuro Stepdown equipment includes Vapotherm, BiPAP, Trachs, and titrating cardiac drips
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Weekend shifts are required
• Experienced nurses may float after orientation
• Patient experience requirements include bedside shift report, personal connection, and daily huddle
• Most common procedures performed include lumbar puncture and chest tube placement
• Strong acute care nursing skills and time management required
• Neuro Stepdown experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking skills required
• Required certifications: BLS for Acute Care; BLS and ACLS for Neuro Stepdown
• Dress code: Black, any shade of blue or grey scrubs; any color scrubs on Fridays
• This unit is an excellent stepping stone for nurses looking to advance to ICU
