Opportunity:

RN - Medical Surgical/Telemetry

Job Details:

• No on-call responsibilities
• Every 3rd weekend rotation required with holiday rotation if scheduled
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming Summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless unit is closed
• Unit contains 16 beds with a 5:1 patient ratio
• Patient types include Telemetry, Post-Op Surgical, Orthopedic, and General Surgery
• Responsible for reading and measuring telemetry strips
• Drip experience required: Insulin, Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone
• 24 months of Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry experience in a hospital or medical center setting required
• Telemetry experience preferred
• Orthopedic and general surgery care experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• First-time travelers accepted with a minimum of 24 months of current nursing experience
• Skills checklist specific to Medical Surgical or Medical Surgical/Telemetry required
• Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license required at time of submission
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months preferred
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC)

This healthcare facility operates a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with 16 beds, providing specialized care for telemetry and post-operative surgical patients, including orthopedic and general surgery cases. The facility utilizes EPIC as its electronic medical records system and supports a comprehensive range of drip therapies.
