Opportunity:
ER RN needed
Job Details:
• 3x12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekday shifts with every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• No call, charge, or float responsibilities
• Block scheduling available if requested at time of profile submittal
• 13-week contract
• Patient ratio of 4 patients per nurse
• 9-bed emergency department with a daily census of 40
• Charting system: Cerner (experience required)
• Scrub color: Burgundy
• Required certifications: BCLS, ACLS, PALS, WV License, NIHSS, TNCC
• Preferred certifications: CPI, MAB, NRP
• Required skills: IV start, triage, abdominal pain, acute psychosis, arterial line management, asthma, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, burns, care of ventilated patient, central line care/management, chest tube insertion/management, continuous IV paralytics, continuous IV sedation, CVA management, drug overdose, emergency medications, general emergency department combined adult/pediatric care, gunshot wounds, head injury, hyperglycemia, hypothermia protocol, infection control, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, intubation, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, IV vasopressors, splint application and management, multisystem organ dysfunction management, managing violent behavior, mental/behavioral health conditions, neuro-trauma, 12-lead EKG/ECG, ortho trauma, phlebotomy, poison ingestion, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, psychiatric hold, respiratory infection, seizures, skin disorders, spinal cord injury, starting and maintaining IVs, suicidal patient management, traumatic brain injury, triage, and urinary tract infection
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; 5 years of ED and small ED experience preferred
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Treats patients of all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, and pharmacy
Facility:
This emergency department operates as a 9-bed unit with a daily census of 40 patients, providing comprehensive emergency care to patients of all age groups. The facility is supported by an interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, and pharmacy. The department utilizes Cerner as its charting system and maintains a consistent patient ratio of 4:1 across days, nights, and weekends.
