Opportunity:
ER RN
Job Details:
• 12-hour shifts available on a self-scheduling basis
• 6 weekend shifts required per six-week period
• Block scheduling approved but not required
• No on-call or float requirements
• Patient ratio of 1:3 maintained across days, nights, and weekends
• Treats patients across all age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Common patient diagnoses include stroke, STEMI, NSTEMI, chest pain, abdominal pain, trauma, shortness of breath, asthma, GU complaints, headaches, sore throat, and lacerations
• Work within a comprehensive stroke center, Level II Trauma Center, and STEMI facility
• Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, interpretation services, transportation, and unit secretary
• Proficiency with Epic charting system required
• Skills required include BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, CVA management, isolation precautions and PPE, IV vasopressors, management of dysrhythmias, stroke care, and triage
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of emergency room experience required (hard stop)
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience required
• LTAC, Level I and Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
• Dress code for licensed nursing personnel requires solid navy blue colored uniforms or scrub attire (print tops not acceptable)
• Free parking available in unrestricted surface parking lots designated for employees and visitors
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
Facility:
This short-term acute care facility operates with 379 staffed beds and functions as a designated Level II Trauma Center and comprehensive stroke and STEMI facility. The emergency department consists of 42 rooms and 46 beds with a daily census of approximately 136 patients. The facility provides a full range of interdisciplinary support services and maintains a strong commitment to high-quality, specialized emergency care across a broad patient population.
