Opportunity:
Med Surg Float Team RN
Job Details:
• 13-week contract starting ASAP
• 8-hour PM shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
• Guaranteed 36-48 hours per week (minimum of 36, up to 48 with overtime after 48 hours)
• Hours are not guaranteed during orientation week or holidays when the unit is closed
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• No on-call or callback requirements
• Float team position - will float as needed within skillset to observation unit, cardiac unit, medical unit, surgical unit, ortho/neuro unit, inpatient rehab, and/or transitional care unit
• Facility will attempt to keep traveler in 1-2 like units but floating to other units is possible
• Patient ratios: PM shift 1:4 to 1:5
• Minimum 1-2+ years of general Med/Surg experience required
• Must have experience with venipuncture and Cardizem
• Experience with ports, Foley/straight cath, and stable drips required
• Previous travel experience strongly preferred
• Epic charting experience strongly preferred within the past 2 years
• Required certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), active RN or Compact license, NIHSS
• NIHSS certification preferred at submission; must be completed prior to end of orientation (provided through Apex Innovations at no charge)
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Scrub colors: No bright colors or character prints
• Strong time management, resilience, adaptability, and social skills preferred
• Contractors must be outside a 50-mile radius of Bellin Health
