Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 12-hour day shifts with weekends scheduled as needed
• Typically scheduled for 1 out of every 2 weekends
• No standby or on-call requirement
• Acute care setting with 30-bed unit
• Patient ratios of 1:6/7 - must be comfortable with ratio up to 1:7
• Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, cellulitis, rule-out cholecystitis, appendicitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, and AKI
• Telemetry monitored remotely by monitor technicians
• RNs required to titrate heparin drips based on aPTT results
• Intermittent BiPAP management required; no ventilator management
• Charge RN on the floor with assignment
• PCTs available on the unit
• Floating to other units as needed based on census; travel nurses floated first
• Up to 2 shift cancellations per 13-week contract
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Must reside outside of a 50-mile radius
• Must submit a copy of unexpired driver's license with application
• Any licensing hits must be disclosed at time of submission
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS

This acute care facility operates a 30-bed medical surgical unit providing comprehensive inpatient care for a variety of diagnoses including cardiac, pulmonary, and infectious conditions. The unit is supported by patient care technicians and utilizes remote telemetry monitoring to ensure continuous patient oversight. The facility uses EPIC as its electronic health records system and maintains a structured scheduling platform to support staff and traveler coordination.
