Opportunity:
RN - MedSurg Inpatient Rehab
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Weekend and holiday coverage required (24/7 coverage, 365 days per year)
• Typical patient ratio of 5 patients per nurse
• 15-bed unit consisting of 13 single rooms and 1 double room
• Care for inpatient rehabilitation patients experiencing life-changing events such as surgeries, strokes, and multi-trauma, with the goal of improving functional gain
• Occasionally required to titrate drips including heparin drips based on lab results; may also administer blood infusions and IVIG
• Charge nurses often take a modified assignment of 2-3 patients but may take a full assignment when circumstances require
• Two CNAs staffed on the unit with ratios of 1:7 during day shifts and 1:11 during night shifts
• No telemetry on the unit
• Scheduling managed by unit management with no block schedule or set patterns
• Floating to inpatient settings required if unit is overstaffed
• Charting system: EPIC
• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving of 50+ lbs throughout each 12-hour shift
• MedSurg experience required; inpatient rehab nursing experience preferred but not required
• BSN not required
• Required certification: BLS
• Professional scrubs in any color required

This acute care facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center offering a wide range of inpatient services, including a dedicated inpatient rehabilitation unit known for its strong teamwork culture and positive work environment. The facility utilizes EPIC as its charting system and maintains 24/7 coverage across all inpatient units.
