Opportunity:
PCU/Stepdown RN
Job Details:
• PCU/Stepdown position requiring cardiac drip experience including the ability to titrate and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (hard stop requirement)
• Patient ratios of 1:3-4
• Every other weekend required (Friday-Saturday for nights or Saturday-Sunday for days/evenings)
• No on-call required
• No block schedules required
• 48-hour shifts approved
• 12-hour orientation
• May float to Telemetry or Med-Surg floors if unit is overstaffed
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
• Patients served include adults and geriatrics
• Common patient diagnoses include CHF, Afib RVR, Chest Pain R/O MI, Heart Cath, Cardiac drips, and traditional MS patients
• Unit has 42 beds
• Charting system: Epic (experience required)
• Scrub color: Any color for RNs
• No parking fee
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Key skills required include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tubes, cardiac drip titration, vasoactive drip titration, heparin protocols, interpretation of dysrhythmias, pacemaker management, sheath removal, tracheostomy care, and wound care/wound vac among others
• Special equipment used includes cardiac monitoring and cardiac drip management equipment
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
• Candidates may choose one holiday (either Thanksgiving or Christmas) but cannot have both off
Facility:
This short-term acute care facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 total staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, the facility provides a comprehensive and dynamic clinical environment supported by a robust interdisciplinary team. The facility utilizes Epic for charting and offers a wide range of specialty services to support complex patient care needs.
