Opportunity:

RN - PCU (Progressive Care Unit)

Job Details:

• 13-week assignment with available start dates every Monday
• Navy blue scrubs required
• No local travelers - must reside outside a 50-mile radius
• Work on high-acuity, heavily cardiac-focused PCU units
• Strong cardiac background required
• EPIC experience required
• Must independently interpret cardiac rhythms and pass a Dysrhythmia Exam on the first attempt with no remediation opportunities
• Dysrhythmia Exam is paper-based, proctored, and requires the use of calipers - no tech assistance permitted
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:5
• Expect high patient acuity, frequent admissions and discharges, and significant procedural volume
• Must have experience with cardiac drips including insulin, milrinone, dobutamine, amiodarone, heparin, Lasix, and nitroglycerin
• Must have chest tube experience
• Must have a rating of "4" on all cardiac skills on the skills checklist
• Heart transplant experience preferred (training available if needed)
• LVAD experience preferred (training available if needed)
• No ventilator patients
• Common patient populations include heart failure, A-fib, atrial flutter, SVT, VTach, VFib, fluid volume overload, chest pain, hypertension, heart transplant patients, congenital heart disease, and LVAD patients
• Common procedures include right and left heart catheterizations, TR band management, sheath removal and management, stent placement, valve replacement, STEMI/NSTEMI care, pacemakers, ICDs, cardioversions, ablations, and groin site management
• Travelers may float to similar cardiac/PCU units as needed but will not float to Cardiac Monitor Tech roles
• Minimum 18 months of recent cardiac unit experience required
