Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg Pediatrics Blended Unit

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts in an acute care setting
• Care for patients on a 20-bed blended unit serving both pediatric and adult female patients
• Average census of approximately 11 patients with higher volume during winter months
• Typical patient load includes 8-10 pediatric patients and 4-6 adult female patients depending on RSV season
• Goal of no more than 5 patients per RN depending on census and available staff
• Core staffing consists of 3 RNs for the department
• Agency RN will be the first to float if census is down and must be comfortable with adult patients
• Charting system is Allscripts transitioning to EPIC; must have EPIC experience within the past year
• Medication system is Acu-dose
• PALS certification required due to care of pediatric patients
• ACLS is not required
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Cancellation policy: 3 shifts per 13-week or longer contract; 2 shifts per 12-week or shorter contract
• Trauma Level 2 facility
