Opportunity:

RN - General Acute Care (Telemetry)

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend schedule required
• 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
• Holiday rotation required on A, B, C team schedule
• Float to all three campuses required; three orientation shifts provided, one on each campus
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights
• Telemetry and rhythm interpretation experience required; must read own rhythm strips and confirm findings documented by CMU using GE monitors (virtual tele monitor support based in Arizona)
• Required to titrate drips including cardizem and amiodarone
• Patient population includes respiratory, observation pending stress test, COPD, CIWA, and chest pain cases
• Charge nurse present on each shift; charge nurse may take 1-3 patients on days and 1-5 patients on nights
• Nurse aides and patient care techs available on unit at a 1:17 ratio to assist with feeding, blood glucose monitoring, bathing, toileting, and labs
• Respiratory therapy handles ventilator and respiratory equipment; RNs responsible for troubleshooting only
• Charting system: EPIC
• Navy blue scrubs required; scrubs not provided
• Block scheduling available for nights; requests for 3 consecutive shifts accepted
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
