Opportunity:

RN - PICU

Job Details:

• Minimum 24 months of PICU / Pediatric Intensive Care experience required
• Must be willing to float to NICU, General Pediatrics, and ED as helping hands
• When floating to NICU, will primarily care for "feeders and growers" - may include babies on oxygen or antibiotics but will not be assigned the most critically ill patients
• Work in a 12-bed, all private-room Pediatric Intensive Care Unit caring for critically ill or injured infants, children, and teens
• On-call as needed on a minimal basis to fill immediate needs
• Every 4th weekend required
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming Summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless unit is closed
• Guaranteed billable hours: 36-40 hours per week with overtime billable after 40 hours; or 48 hours per week with overtime billable after 48 hours
• Experience with ventilators and high flow equipment highly preferred
• Experience with Alaris IV pumps and feeding pumps highly preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA)
• Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license required
• Skills checklist specific to PICU / Pediatric Intensive Care required
• All candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility

This healthcare facility features a state-of-the-art Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with 12 single-patient private rooms, each equipped with modern ceiling booms and advanced monitoring capabilities. The unit includes a Family Consultation Room, Family Lounge with kitchenette, and patient and family-centered amenities designed to support both patients and their loved ones during their stay. The facility also operates a Pediatric Transport Team that provides critical care expertise to children throughout the state, working under the medical direction of pediatric critical care and emergency medicine physicians.
