Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg and Telemetry

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts on a full-time schedule
• Every other weekend requirement
• 1-2 winter holidays required
• Up to 4 standby/call shifts during contract duration
• Primary assignment at one medical center with required floating throughout Region Two facilities in Lakewood, WA; Enumclaw, WA; and Tacoma, WA - rate differential applies when floated outside of primary location
• Float coverage required across entire Med/Surg and Telemetry division including surgical, long-term low acuity, general medical, cardiac, neuro, ortho/spine, and oncology units
• May also be assigned to ER Transition Unit, Cardiac Decision Unit, or Med/Surg transition area as needed
• RN-to-patient ratio of 4-5 patients per RN
• CNA support available with ratio of 8-11 patients per CNA
• Telemetry monitored remotely by telemetry techs; RNs responsible for verifying strip readings
• Required to titrate drips including insulin, heparin, nitro, dobutamine, dopamine, and cardizem per med/surg guidelines
• Equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and trachs (no vents)
• Charting system: EPIC
• No specific scrub color required
• Breaks must be taken when offered and cannot be refused
• Orientation consists of 4 hours on each of the six primary Med/Surg units
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
• At least 2 years of acute care experience required
• BLS certification required
• BSN not required

This acute care facility features multiple Med/Surg and Telemetry units spanning six specialized floors, including surgical, neuro, ortho/spine, cardiac, and oncology units. The facility provides comprehensive support services including charge RNs on each unit and house supervisors, along with dedicated telemetry monitoring technicians. The organization maintains high standards of patient care across a wide range of medical and surgical specialties, with access to additional transition and decision units to support patient flow.
