Opportunity:

RN - ICU / Cardiac Surgical ICU

Job Details:

• Night shift position in a 24-bed Cardiac Surgical ICU
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
• 6-9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• Schedule is assigned based on department needs with consideration for pre-approved time off requests
• Holiday shifts required
• First to float; may float to other ICUs as RN, to ED or acute care as helping hands, or within Zone 3 if needed
• Up to 4 shifts may be cancelled per 13-week assignment (3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks)
• Care for cardiac and cardiac surgical patients including TAVR, CABG, and medical ICU populations
• Required to titrate drips including vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, analgesics, metabolic, and specialized drips
• Perform 12-lead EKGs and read own cardiac monitor strips (Philips monitors)
• Work with respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, and ventilators
• Intensivist and respiratory therapy support available in-house 24/7
• Critical care technician support available on unit
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• General critical care experience required; must be flexible, adaptable, and a strong team player
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS; CRRT preferred
• BSN not required
• Valid driver's license must be submitted; must be within 60-mile radius

This acute care facility operates a specialized Cardiac Surgical ICU equipped to handle complex cardiac and surgical critical care cases. The unit maintains a strong multidisciplinary approach with intensivists, respiratory therapists, and critical care technicians available around the clock. The facility utilizes EPIC as its charting system and is committed to providing high-quality critical care through structured staffing plans and evidence-based practices.
