Opportunity:
RN - Float Critical Care
Job Details:
• Combined ICU and CCU unit with patient ratios of 1:1-3 in critical care and 1:4 if floated to step-down
• Ratios vary based on census, patient acuity, and staffing
• Required to float within skillset without exception to ICU/CCU, CTICU, Step Down units, and ED Holding for admitted ICU patients awaiting a bed
• Every other weekend requirement
• Must work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's) as needed
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period
• Scrubs: Navy Blue
• EPIC charting experience required
• 1.5 years of critical care experience required
• Active NJ or Compact nursing license required at time of submission
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• IV therapy skills required: arterial line management, starting and maintaining IVs, phlebotomy
• Respiratory skills required: care of ventilated patients, interpretation of ABGs
• Cardiac skills required: post cardiac surgery (not directly from OR), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Swan-Ganz catheter experience highly preferred
• Experience with or exposure to IABP, Impella, and VAD highly preferred
• CTICU or medical cardiology experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Patients served include adolescents and adults
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted

This is a 653-bed quaternary-care regional teaching hospital providing comprehensive care for the surrounding region. The facility is home to one of the nation's largest heart transplant programs, the state's only Advanced Lung Disease and Transplant Program, and a Structural Heart and Valve Center offering complex procedures including TAVR. The hospital is part of New Jersey's largest integrated healthcare system and provides 24/7 specialty support across a wide range of critical care and cardiac services.
