NICU-Based Float Pool

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Livingston, New Jersey
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 8:00 AM
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Jersey
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Critical Care Float (1.5 years of experience)
• Critical Care Float experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NRP issued by American Heart Association
• PALS issued by American Heart Association
• NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience
• Experience with Epic
• A-line management
• Central line/implanted line care
• UAC/UVC management
• IV vasopressor administration
• Surfactant administration
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BiPAP/PEEP modes)
• Placement and management of oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes
• Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome care
• Must work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays, as needed
• Floating is required without exception

• Floating to PICU, Peds, and NBN

Clinical Skills

• A-line management
• Central Line/Implanted Line Care
• UAC/UVC
• IV vasopressors
• Steroids
• Surfactants
• Dysrhythmia Interpretation/Management
• Ventilator management: AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP
• Feedings: bottle, breast, gavage
• Placement/Management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes
• Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome

Scheduling

• Every other weekend
• 37.5 hours per week
