Opportunity:

RN - Telemetry

Job Details:

• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, scheduled based on need
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday rotation required
• No on-call or standby requirement for agency staff
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 4-5 patients during days and 5-6 patients during nights
• 18-bed Telemetry unit treating common diagnoses including stroke, CHF, ACS, CAD, arrhythmias, and post heart cath patients
• Experience with cath lab post recovery (femoral/radial) and stroke care highly preferred
• Minimum 2+ years of recent telemetry experience required
• Must have drip experience; common drips include Cardizem, Amio, Dopamine, and Heparin titration
• RNs responsible for signing off on telemetry strips; monitor tech handles central telemetry
• Charge nurse carries a patient assignment
• Nurse aides available on unit with acuity-based ratio of 2 CNAs
• Equipment used includes BiPAP and High Flow
• Floating may be required to ICU, Med/Surg, or ER within scope of practice including ER boarders
• Scrubs: any color permitted
• Department-specific orientation consists of 2 12-hour shifts
• Charting system: MEDITECH (experience a plus)
• Phlebotomy experience is a plus
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Illinois nursing license required to submit
• BSN not required

This acute care facility features an 18-bed Telemetry unit equipped to handle a wide range of cardiovascular and neurological conditions. The unit is supported by monitor technicians, charge nurses, and nurse aides to ensure comprehensive patient care. The facility utilizes MEDITECH as its charting system and provides department-specific orientation to support incoming staff.
