Opportunity:

RN - MedSurg

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday rotation required
• No on-call or standby requirement for agency staff
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights
• Work interchangeably across three units: 3 East (24 beds), 3 North (17 beds), and 2 North (15 beds)
• Common diagnoses include post-operative general, orthopedic, and podiatry cases, as well as general medical conditions such as DM PN, CHF, COPD, cellulitis, CBI, BiPAP, peritoneal dialysis, surgical drains, and wound vacs
• RNs are not required to titrate drips
• Telemetry patients are centrally monitored by monitor techs; RNs do not read tele
• Charge nurse carries patients; house supervisor is available 24/7 without a patient assignment
• Nurse aides are available with assignments based on acuity
• Respiratory therapy manages RT equipment including BiPAP, High Flow, and Vapotherm
• Floating may be required to ICU or Tele to accommodate MedSurg overflow, within scope of practice only
• Charting system: MEDITECH
• Any color of professional scrubs acceptable
• 2 years of recent post-operative recovery experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
• Required certification: BLS
• Illinois nursing license required
• BSN not required
