Opportunity:

RN - MedSurg Peds

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Self-scheduling available
• Weekends required as needed
• No holiday requirement
• Float to ED/ICU for 1:1s as needed
• First to float designation applies
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: Days 1:4, Nights 1:5
• Care for adult and pediatric patients with diagnoses including UTI, altered mental status, pneumonia, and COPD
• Unit consists of 17 beds including 14 inpatient and 3 observation beds
• RNs are not required to titrate drips; common drips include electrolytes, hypertensive medications, and diuretics
• Apply telemetry monitors to patients; ICU monitors tele and reads strips
• Occasional BiPap present on unit, managed primarily by respiratory therapy
• No ventilators on unit
• Charge nurse is present each shift and takes a patient assignment
• 2 nurse aides on days and 1 nurse aide on nights
• Pediatric patients are not managed by hospitalist; pediatrician is on call
• Charting system: MEDITECH
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• 1 orientation shift of 12 hours provided, with the option for one day and one night orientation if needed
• Facial hair policy: Clinicians with facial hair must pass a fit test; failure to pass or inability to remove facial hair may result in contract cancellation
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS
• BSN not required
• Active nursing license required
