Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
• ARDMS certification required (specialty-specific: Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular, Echo, etc.) or CCI equivalent
• State licensure as applicable
• BLS certification required
• 1+ years of ultrasound experience required
• Proficiency with ultrasound equipment and PACS systems

Duties:

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams per physician orders across relevant specialty areas (abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, cardiac, etc.)
• Position patients and operate ultrasound equipment to obtain diagnostic quality images
• Analyze images in real time to ensure completeness and accuracy, adjusting technique as needed
• Recognize and document sonographic findings, flagging critical results to physicians promptly
• Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment, troubleshooting technical issues as needed
• Educate patients on exam procedures and address concerns with sensitivity
• Accurately document exams and maintain patient records in RIS/PACS systems
• Collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians on findings and follow-up imaging needs
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols, including proper equipment cleaning between patients
