Description

Requirements:

  • Active RN license in state of practice (or compact license as applicable)
  • BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
  • BLS certification required
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification (ONS) required for oncology infusion settings
  • 1+ years of infusion nursing experience required
  • Strong IV access and vascular assessment skills (peripheral, PICC, port access)

Duties:

  • Administer IV medications, chemotherapy, biologics, and fluid therapies per physician orders
  • Assess patients pre-, during, and post-infusion, monitoring for adverse reactions
  • Initiate and manage vascular access, including peripheral IVs, PICC lines, and implanted ports
  • Educate patients and families on infusion therapy, side effects, and home care instructions
  • Respond promptly to infusion reactions or complications with appropriate interventions
  • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary team on treatment plans
  • Accurately document assessments, treatments, and patient response in the EMR
  • Maintain infusion equipment and supplies, ensuring proper function and infection control
  • Monitor lab values and treatment tolerance, adjusting care per protocol
