Description

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification required
BLS certification required
1+ years of surgical tech experience required
Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile technique, and procedural anatomy

Duties:

Prepare and set up sterile field, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures
Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and assist during procedures while maintaining sterile technique
Anticipate surgeon and procedural needs throughout the case
Perform accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts before, during, and after procedures
Monitor sterile field for breaks in technique and take corrective action as needed
Handle and prepare specimens for pathology per facility protocol
Collaborate with circulating RN, surgeons, and anesthesia providers to ensure smooth case flow
Assist with room turnover and terminal cleaning between cases
Maintain and organize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies
