Description
Requirements:
*Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
*ARRT certification in Radiography (R) required; CT certification (ARRT-CT) preferred/required per facility
*State radiologic technology license (as applicable)
*BLS certification required *1+ years of CT experience preferred (varies by facility)
*IV certification/venipuncture skills often required
Duties:
- Perform computed tomography (CT) imaging exams per physician orders, ensuring accurate positioning and image quality
- Prepare and administer contrast media as ordered, monitoring patients for adverse reactions
- Review patient history and screening for contraindications (allergies, renal function, pregnancy)
- Operate and maintain CT equipment, troubleshooting technical issues as needed
- Ensure radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles are followed
- Accurately document exams and maintain patient records in RIS/PACS systems
- Collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure diagnostic quality imaging
