Med/Surg RN Job Details
- Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (Travel Nursing)
- Location: Charlotte, NC (28203) – North Carolina nursing jobs
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1570-$1680
- Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department Holds (Med/Surg/Telemetry)
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm – 7:00am)
- Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed
- Contract Length: 13-week travel nursing contract (Start: 10/20/2025 – End: 1/17/2026)
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
- Holiday Coverage: 75% of holidays during contract
- Scrub Color: Navy
- Parking: Free on-site parking
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license (North Carolina or compact state) – Registered Nurse jobs
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry nursing experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Stroke care experience and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
- Proficient in Med/Surg/Tele procedures: trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management), PCA pumps
- Medication gtt management (cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, IVF)
- Ability to float to other healthcare facilities within the Charlotte region
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care in Emergency Department Holds (Med/Surg/Tele)
- Manage diverse patient populations: trauma, cardiac, respiratory, GI, mental health, and more
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; respond to changes appropriately
- Perform and manage nursing procedures: trach care, chest tubes, drains, NGT, etc.
- Administer medications, IV infusions, blood products, and cardiac drips
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams (CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, RTs, hospitalists, intensivists)
- Float to other nursing units or facilities in the Charlotte, NC area as needed
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
