- Location: Springfield, IL 62781 (Central Illinois healthcare jobs)
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Facility: Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center
- Start Date: November 17, 2025
- End Date: February 16, 2026
- Duration: 13-week nursing contract
- Shift: 4x10-hour days (06:15 - 16:45)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2650 - $2720
- On-Call: 1-2 nights per week and every 4th weekend
- Charting: Cerner EMR
- Scrub Color: Provided
- Parking: Free permit provided
CVOR Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of recent Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) or trauma/major OR nursing experience required
- Active Illinois RN license or eligibility (Illinois nursing jobs)
- BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross only)
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience in a Level II Trauma Center required; Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records (EMR)
- Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Whipple procedure experience required
CVOR RN Responsibilities
- Deliver expert nursing care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) during pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases
- Assist with a variety of cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and endoscopic procedures, including aortic aneurysm repair, CABG, ECMO, TAVR, MAZE, LVAD, carotid endarterectomy, femoral cannulation, and Whipple procedures
- Scrub and circulate for cardiovascular, thoracic, vascular, and endoscopic surgeries
- Ensure compliance with universal protocols, laser safety, and specimen handling/labeling
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to surgical emergencies as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records using Cerner EMR
- Mentor and support new staff and nursing students as part of a teaching hospital team
