• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Facility: Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center
• Start Date: November 17, 2025
• End Date: February 16, 2026
• Duration: 13-week nursing contract
• Shift: 4x10-hour days (06:15 - 16:45)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2650 - $2720
• On-Call: 1-2 nights per week and every 4th weekend
• Charting: Cerner EMR
• Scrub Color: Provided
• Parking: Free permit provided

CVOR Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) or trauma/major OR nursing experience required
• Active Illinois RN license or eligibility (Illinois nursing jobs)
• BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross only)
• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience in a Level II Trauma Center required; Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records (EMR)
• Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs
• Whipple procedure experience required

CVOR RN Responsibilities

• Deliver expert nursing care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) during pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases
• Assist with a variety of cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and endoscopic procedures, including aortic aneurysm repair, CABG, ECMO, TAVR, MAZE, LVAD, carotid endarterectomy, femoral cannulation, and Whipple procedures
• Scrub and circulate for cardiovascular, thoracic, vascular, and endoscopic surgeries
• Ensure compliance with universal protocols, laser safety, and specimen handling/labeling
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to surgical emergencies as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records using Cerner EMR
• Mentor and support new staff and nursing students as part of a teaching hospital team
