Psychiatric RN Job Details

• Location: Holyoke, Massachusetts (01040) – Located in the scenic Pioneer Valley, close to outdoor recreation and cultural attractions
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
• Unit: Adolescent Psychiatric Unit
• Schedule: Full-time, 8-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM), every other weekend and holiday required
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 11/17/2025 – End: 2/16/2026)
• Openings: 3 Psychiatric RN positions available
• On-Call: No call required
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2100 - $2250

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience (adolescent mental health preferred)
• CPR certification required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Experience with restraint reduction, de-escalation, and crisis intervention preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to float to similar or lower acuity behavioral health units
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems

Psychiatric Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care to adolescent psychiatric patients and their families/legal guardians
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment in accordance with behavioral health and psychiatric nursing standards
• Participate actively as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team
• Develop, implement, and document individualized treatment plans and nursing interventions
• Serve as charge nurse as needed (charge nurse duties included in standard rate)
• Utilize trauma-informed care, recovery models, and evidence-based psychiatric nursing practices
• Demonstrate flexibility, creativity, and professionalism in crisis situations
• Build therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
