Travel RN - CVICU

Location: Fort Worth, Texas
Employment Type: Travel


Unit Information

  • Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
  • Beds: 16
  • Staff: 45 RNs
  • Patient Ratio: 2:1 (2 patients per 1 RN)
  • Shift Ratios:
    • Day Shift: 1 CNC and 2:1 nurse to patient ratio
    • Night Shift: 1 CNC and 2:1 nurse to patient ratio
  • Equipment: GE monitors, EV 1000, Hemispheres, CRRT (NextStage), Impella, Swan Ganz, Art lines, Chest tubes, ventilators
  • EMR System: Meditech

Job Details

  • Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Specialty: Critical Care Nursing (Adult ICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU, or any Critical Care specialty)
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years of critical care experience (higher value between 1 and 2 years applied)
  • Skills Required:
    • Ventilator experience
    • Art line, Central line, and Chest tube management
  • Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN)

Preferred Qualifications

  • CVICU specific experience
  • CABG recovery
  • CRRT
  • Impella
  • Meditech EMR experience
  • BSN degree
  • CCRN certification

  • Hemodynamic monitoring
  • Swan Ganz catheter management
  • Art lines
  • Chest tubes

Work Environment & Policies

  • Floating Areas: Medical ICU, Neuro Surgical ICU, Cardiac PCU
  • Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs
  • Weekend Shifts: 2 weekend shifts biweekly
  • On-call: None
  • Personality Fit: Team player who works best with collaborative care
