Travel RN Opportunity – CVICU, Fort Worth, TX

Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
  • Location: Fort Worth, Texas
  • Employment Type: Travel
  • Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Night Shift)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

  • Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
  • Number of Beds: 16
  • Staffing: 45 total staff, all RNs
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 2:1 (both day and night shifts)
  • Typical Staff on Night Shift: 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) plus 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Floor: 3rd floor (3 West), A Tower (main building)
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Equipment and Procedures

  • GE monitors
  • EV 1000
  • Hemispheres
  • Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) – NextStage
  • Impella device
  • Swan Ganz catheters
  • Arterial lines
  • Chest tubes
  • Mechanical ventilators

Typical Procedures Performed

  • Hemodynamic monitoring
  • Swan Ganz catheter management
  • Arterial line management
  • Chest tube care

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of critical care experience (adult ICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU, or any critical care specialty)
  • Experience with ventilators
  • Skills in managing arterial lines, central lines, and chest tubes

Preferred Qualifications

  • CVICU-specific experience, including CABG recovery
  • Experience with CRRT and Impella devices
  • Familiarity with Meditech EMR
  • BSN degree
  • CCRN certification

Certifications and Floating Areas

  • Must be a licensed RN
  • Floating areas include Medical ICU, Neuro Surgical ICU, and Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Work Schedule and Policies

  • Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs
  • Weekend Shifts: 2 weekend shifts every two weeks
  • No on-call responsibilities
