Labor & Delivery RN Job Details – Knoxville, TN
- Job Title: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Contract
- Location: Knoxville, TN 37920 (East Tennessee healthcare jobs)
- Healthcare Setting: Labor & Delivery Unit
- Contract Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Start Date: December 15, 2025
- End Date: March 16, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36 (Guaranteed)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,730 - $1,770
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Intermediate Course certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- Experience with Cerner EMR/charting system
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Ability to float within Women’s and Infants scope (may occasionally work in Post-Partum/Ante-Partum units)
Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, expert care to laboring mothers and newborns in a clinical setting
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, interpret fetal heart tracings, and respond to obstetric emergencies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
- Accurately document patient care using Cerner electronic medical records
- Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical education as required
- Work every other weekend and adapt to unit needs, including occasional floating within scope
