Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details – Indianapolis Healthcare Jobs
- Location: Indianapolis, IN 46202
- Unit: A3N - Cardiovascular Surgical Services
- Setting: Medical/Surgical Telemetry (Med/Surg Tele)
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 shifts per week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025 – End: 3/16/2026)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1770–$1820
- Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
- Staffing Ratios: 1:5-6
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience in a U.S. hospital
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or Compact State (must be in hand before start date)
- BCLS certification required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and IV starts preferred
- Ability to float to Med-Surg, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as needed
- Willingness to work 50% of weekends during contract
- Flexibility with weekend and holiday scheduling required
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Two supervisor references required
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to cardiovascular surgical, peripheral vascular surgical, arrhythmia, endocarditis, and congestive heart failure (CHF) patients
- Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms; manage dysrhythmias
- Administer blood products, manage central and peripheral lines, and follow heparin protocols
- Start and maintain IVs, provide oxygen therapy, and manage non-invasive airways
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, physical therapy (PT), respiratory therapy (RT), pharmacy, and social services
- Float to other Med/Surg, PCU, or ICU units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals as required
- Precept and mentor nursing students or new staff as assigned
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in rapid response teams as needed
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to a diverse adult and geriatric population
