Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Location: Brooklyn, Maryland (21225) – Convenient to Baltimore’s top healthcare facilities, cultural attractions, and scenic waterfront
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: January 5, 2026 – End: April 6, 2026)
• Setting: Labor & Delivery Unit at Magnet-certified, Baby Friendly hospital
• Shift: Day shift, 12-hour shifts (07:00 – 19:30); flexible 3x12 or 4x12 schedule
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1710–$1830
• Patient Ratio: 1:1-2
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float: May float to Postpartum, Couplet Care, and Level II NICU (Special Care Nursery)
• Scrubs: Provided
• Charting System: Cerner
• Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (2 years considered for exceptional candidates)
• Active RN license in Maryland or compact state (required for Maryland nursing jobs)
• C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification through NCC – required at time of submission
• BLS and NRP certifications – required
• Preferred: ACLS, STABLE, AWHONN certifications
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Demonstrated experience in Antepartum, Intrapartum, Postpartum, and Couplet Care
• First-time travel nurses welcome
• Two supervisor references required

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages
• Circulate for C-sections and assist with high-risk deliveries in a clinical setting
• Perform sterile vaginal exams and triage obstetrical patients
• Support breastfeeding and lactation in accordance with Baby Friendly hospital standards
• Float to Postpartum, Couplet Care, and Level II NICU as needed
• Utilize Cerner for accurate charting and clinical documentation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV therapy, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, including mandatory flu vaccination
