ICU Nurse Job Details
- Location: Worcester, MA 01655 (Massachusetts nursing jobs)
- Setting: Critical Care Float Pool – ICU
- Contract Type: Travel nurse contract
- Start Date: December 30, 2025
- End Date: March 31, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Float Requirement: All ICU units
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts RN license (required for Worcester healthcare jobs)
- Minimum 3 years of recent ICU nursing experience (5+ years in Level 1 Trauma facility preferred)
- Previous charge nurse experience (required)
- Level 1 Trauma facility experience (required)
- EPIC charting system experience (preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- NIHSS and TCAR certifications (preferred)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- Must pass Tele exam during orientation (passing score: 80%)
ICU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in multiple ICU specialties: surgical, cardiac, trauma, medical, and neuro
- Float between ICU units, adapting to diverse patient needs and protocols
- Operate and monitor advanced equipment: arterial lines, central lines, ventilators, ICP monitoring, IABP, LVAD/RVAD
- Administer emergency medications, blood products, and titrate cardiac/vasoactive drips
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC
- Complete orientation and required modules prior to and during assignment
- Follow infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
- Work every other weekend and holiday shifts as scheduled
