Travel Mammography Technologist Job Details

• Location: Falmouth, MA (02540) – Cape Cod healthcare jobs
• Setting: Hospital-based Radiology Department
• Employment Type: Travel Contract (13 weeks)
• Start Date: December 22, 2025
• End Date: March 21, 2026
• Hours per Week: 40 guaranteed
• Shift: 8.5-hour days (8:00am–4:30pm, 9:00am–5:30pm), every other Saturday (7:30am–3:30pm), no holidays
• Unit: Mammography & Bone Density (DEXA)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2380–$2550 per week

Mammography Technologist Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Mammography Technologist or Radiologic Technologist
• Graduate of a JCERT Accredited Radiography Program
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required
• Current Massachusetts State license for Radiology and Mammography
• Current BLS certification
• Experience with 3D Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (8 hours didactic/clinical training required)
• Experience with Full-Field Digital Mammography (8 hours didactic/clinical training required)
• Proficiency in bone density exams (DEXA preferred; ARRT Bone Density Operator certification preferred)
• Strong communication skills in English

Key Responsibilities for Mammography/Radiologic Technologist

• Perform mammographic exams and procedures to detect breast abnormalities and cancer, ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Conduct bone density (DEXA) examinations as needed
• Prepare exam rooms and equipment, ensuring MQSA compliance and quality assurance
• Review requisitions, prior reports/images, and coordinate with radiologists for exam clarification
• Educate patients on screening and diagnostic mammogram procedures and results
• Document accurate patient history and refer to nurse practitioner as needed
• Operate mammography equipment, set exposure factors, and process images using safety protocols
• Evaluate images for technical quality and maintain accurate radiology records
• Perform and document required Quality Control procedures; maintain inventory of supplies
• Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate timely service repairs
• Maintain up-to-date training in QC, patient positioning, scan protocols, data management, and radiation protection
• Complete PACS processing and ensure proper data transfer
• Comply with infection control policies and maintain patient confidentiality
• Participate in continuing education and professional development
• Deliver service excellence to patients, families, and colleagues
• Perform other related healthcare duties as assigned
