- Location: Utica, NY 13502 (Central New York nursing jobs)
- Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse
- Unit: Stroke Stepdown (7th Floor, 64-bed unit)
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (6:30pm – 7:00am)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: December 29, 2025 – End: March 29, 2026)
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,110 - $2,170
- Patient Demographics: Adult patients
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- EMR System: EPIC
- Floating: Required to other hospital units as needed
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Med/Surg RN, preferably on Stroke Stepdown units
- Active New York RN license (NURSYS verification required)
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and NIHSS certifications
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR system
- Up-to-date resume documenting relevant nursing experience
- Two recent Med/Surg Charge/Manager RN references
- Skills checklist for Med/Surg nursing specialty
- Valid driver’s license with address matching application demographics
- Ability and willingness to float to other hospital units
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with stroke, altered mental status, renal/dialysis, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, pulmonary, and other medical-surgical diagnoses
- Monitor, assess, and document patient status using EPIC EMR
- Administer medications and operate specialty equipment including IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff
- Float to other hospital units to support patient care needs as required
