• Location: Utica, NY 13502 (Central New York nursing jobs)
• Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse
• Unit: Stroke Stepdown (7th Floor, 64-bed unit)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (6:30pm – 7:00am)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: December 29, 2025 – End: March 29, 2026)
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,110 - $2,170
• Patient Demographics: Adult patients
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue
• EMR System: EPIC
• Floating: Required to other hospital units as needed

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Med/Surg RN, preferably on Stroke Stepdown units
• Active New York RN license (NURSYS verification required)
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and NIHSS certifications
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR system
• Up-to-date resume documenting relevant nursing experience
• Two recent Med/Surg Charge/Manager RN references
• Skills checklist for Med/Surg nursing specialty
• Valid driver’s license with address matching application demographics
• Ability and willingness to float to other hospital units

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with stroke, altered mental status, renal/dialysis, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, pulmonary, and other medical-surgical diagnoses
• Monitor, assess, and document patient status using EPIC EMR
• Administer medications and operate specialty equipment including IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff
• Float to other hospital units to support patient care needs as required
