Operating Room Technician Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Current ORT (Operating Room Technician) certification required
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as an OR Tech or Surgical Technologist in a hospital or clinical healthcare setting
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Key Responsibilities for Surgical Technologists

• Maintain safe, sterile setup and handling of all surgical instrumentation during scheduled and emergency procedures
• Gather and prepare all necessary instruments and supplies as indicated on surgeon pick sheets
• Assist with pressure assignments, clerical duties, and other department-related tasks as needed
• Uphold high standards of infection control and patient safety throughout all surgical procedures
