Chicago Healthcare Job Details

  • Location: Chicago, IL 60612 (Illinois nursing jobs)
  • Assignment Type: Travel Nursing, On-Site
  • Start Date: December 30, 2025
  • End Date: March 31, 2026
  • Duration: 13-week contract
  • Shift: Days, 5x8-hour shifts/week (10:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,620–$2,690
  • Call Requirements: One 12-hour shift/month (Saturday or Sunday, 7 AM–7 PM or 7 PM–7 AM)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends/month)
  • Floating: Mandatory float within 50 miles to support Chicago healthcare facilities
  • Charting System: Cerner EMR
  • Scrub Color: Navy Blue (provided)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

  • Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at submission)
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in the Operating Room (OR RN experience)
  • Level 1 Trauma Center experience required
  • Strong scrub and circulate skills in surgical nursing
  • Experience in orthopedic, orthopedic trauma, vascular, urology, and general surgery
  • Preferred: Experience in neurosurgery (crani and spine), open heart/thoracic, ophthalmology, ENT, bariatric, and gynecology
  • COVID-19 vaccine required (no exemptions)
  • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
  • Must be responsive and able to meet compliance deadlines (lab work within 72 hours of accepting assignment)
  • Locals accepted (must live within 75 miles of the facility)

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced, Level 1 Trauma Center
  • Scrub and circulate for a wide range of surgical procedures: orthopedic, trauma, vascular, urology, and general surgeries
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EMR
  • Participate in on-call rotation and work every other weekend as required
  • Float to other Chicago healthcare units within a 50-mile radius as needed
  • Comply with hospital policies, compliance, and vaccination requirements
