CT Technologist Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a CT Technologist or Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist
• Proficiency in both CT and Digital X-ray imaging modalities
• Strong knowledge of radiographic techniques, patient positioning, and clinical protocols
• Ability to follow CT scanning protocols and evaluate image quality
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with Radiologists and the healthcare team
• Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification preferred
• Strict adherence to radiation safety procedures and hospital policies

CT Technologist Responsibilities

• Position patients and operate CT and X-ray equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient comfort and safety
• Determine appropriate radiographic techniques based on patient anatomy and clinical indications
• Collect and document patient history for Radiologist review
• Review images for diagnostic quality and determine if additional views are necessary
• Perform equipment start-up, shut-down, and routine maintenance procedures
• Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions promptly
• Accurately label and mark images in compliance with departmental standards
• Communicate findings and collaborate with Radiologists regarding normal and abnormal anatomy
• Evaluate CT orders for appropriateness using ACR Appropriateness Criteria
• Maintain strict adherence to all safety, infection control, and operational protocols
