Job Details – Med/Surg Tele RN Travel Nursing Job in Rochester, NY

• Location: Rochester, NY 14621 – Upstate New York healthcare jobs near Lake Ontario, scenic trails, and a lively arts scene
• Unit: 26-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: January 20, 2026
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1850-$1980
• Employment Type: Travel RN, On-Site
• Charting System: EPIC (EPIC experience required)
• Scrub Color: Navy and white combinations

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand (required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system (required)
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Must reside more than 75 miles from Rochester, NY (per travel nursing guidelines)
• First-time travel nurses welcome – great opportunity for new travelers!

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for Med/Surg Telemetry patients
• Deliver care for CHF patients, acute myocardial infarctions (MI), post-device care (pacemakers), and patients with arrhythmias
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias; respond to cardiac emergencies as part of Rapid Response and Code teams
• Administer IV therapy, perform phlebotomy, and manage peripheral lines
• Provide respiratory support (nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, non-invasive airway management)
• Maintain isolation precautions and perform wound care/wound vac management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Complete required onboarding modules prior to start (up to 5 billable hours)
