PCU RN Job Details

• Location: Bloomington, IN 47408 – Indiana nursing jobs in a lively university city
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: January 6, 2026
• End Date: April 7, 2026
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:30), 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Unit: 4E - Acuity Adaptable PCU (Mixed Acuity: ICU and PCU ratios)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1650-$1770
• Free Parking

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of recent PCU or ICU nursing experience
• Active Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license (required before start date)
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS required; NIHSS preferred
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
• Ability to float within hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Comfortable caring for patients across acuity levels, including ICU ratios (1:2) and PCU ratios (1:3-4)
• Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during contract
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a PCU/ICU setting
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, post-cardiac surgery care (CABG, TAVR, SAVR, MVR, VATS), and cardiac/vascular procedures
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and blood product administration
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Provide ventilator management and care for ventilated patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to other nursing units within scope as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR
• Participate in rapid response/code teams and follow isolation precautions
