PCU RN Job Details
- Location: Bloomington, IN 47408 – Indiana nursing jobs in a lively university city
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: January 6, 2026
- End Date: April 7, 2026
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:30), 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- Unit: 4E - Acuity Adaptable PCU (Mixed Acuity: ICU and PCU ratios)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1650-$1770

Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 18 months of recent PCU or ICU nursing experience
- Active Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license (required before start date)
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS required; NIHSS preferred
- Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
- Ability to float within hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed
- Comfortable caring for patients across acuity levels, including ICU ratios (1:2) and PCU ratios (1:3-4)
- Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during contract
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a PCU/ICU setting
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, post-cardiac surgery care (CABG, TAVR, SAVR, MVR, VATS), and cardiac/vascular procedures
- Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and blood product administration
- Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Provide ventilator management and care for ventilated patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services
- Float to other nursing units within scope as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR
- Participate in rapid response/code teams and follow isolation precautions
