PCU Nursing Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
• Start Date: January 19, 2026
• End Date: April 20, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Nursing Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (12 Hour Nights)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Unit Size: 17 beds
• Patient Ratio: 5:1
• Dress Code: Galaxy Blue scrubs (top), black or galaxy blue bottoms; white or gray undershirt permitted

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Kentucky RN license (Registered Nurse)
• BLS and NIH Stroke certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
• Experience managing higher patient ratios (5-6 patients per nurse)
• Proficiency with cardiac drips and telemetry monitoring
• Ability to float to any PCU or Medical-Surgical unit as needed
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR preferred
• Strong clinical skills, team-oriented, critical thinker, self-motivated, and adaptable

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in a mixed acuity Progressive Care Unit
• Monitor and manage cardiac drips and telemetry for heart care patients
• Operate clinical equipment: Dynamaps, glucometers, IV and SCD pumps, lift equipment, bladder scanners, cardiac monitors, Provizio SEMs scanner
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Float to other PCU or Med Surg units as required
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced hospital environment
