Travel RN Opportunity – Emergency Department, Asheville, NC

Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Location: Asheville, North Carolina
  • Employment Type: Travel
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

  • Department: Emergency Department (ED)
  • Unit Size: 101 beds
  • Patient Ratios:
    • Typically 4:1 for medical patients
    • Up to 7:1 for behavioral holds in the ED
  • Staffing:
    • Techs available
    • Cardiac monitoring unit and internal processing area support
    • Triage and unit clerks on day and night shifts
  • Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
  • Documentation System: Cerner
  • Scheduling:
    • Every other weekend required
    • No block scheduling commitment; schedule must meet department needs
  • Floating Policy:
    • No floating outside the ED
    • Must be flexible to float within all sections of the ED

Certifications Required (Must have before start date)

  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • PALS
  • TNCC
  • CPI
  • NIHSS
  • ENPC (within 90 days of hire)

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience in a Level 2 trauma center or comprehensive stroke center
  • Experience in a high-volume ED (>100,000 visits annually)
  • At least 1 year of ER nursing experience
  • Previous experience with HCA Healthcare preferred
  • Teamwork mentality with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
  • Flexibility to work across all ED areas

Dress Code

  • Navy scrubs required
