Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Washington, DC 20007 (Georgetown)
- Healthcare Setting: 28-bed Neurosciences & Stroke IMC/PCU
- Assignment Type: Travel RN Contract
- Start Date: January 26, 2026
- End Date: April 27, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Nursing Shift: 3x12-hour nights (18:30 – 07:00), 36 hours/week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Charting System: Cerner
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in cardiac stepdown, IMC, or PCU nursing jobs
- At least 1 prior travel nurse assignment required
- Active DC RN license (pending accepted with proof, must be in hand by start date)
- BLS certification (required)
- Preferred: ACLS, NIHSS, BSN
- Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (minimum 80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms)
- Experience with Cerner charting system
- Ability to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Two supervisor references required
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with neurosurgery, neurology, stroke, and diverse medical conditions (sepsis, cardiac arrhythmias, oncology complications, diabetes, heart failure)
- Interpret and manage cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias
- Perform phlebotomy, IV starts, and manage peripheral/PICC lines
- Deliver care for tracheostomy, feeding tubes, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy
- Complete orientation and required modules prior to independent practice
- Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner
- Float to other nursing units as needed based on patient acuity
