Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Washington, DC 20007 (Georgetown)
• Healthcare Setting: 28-bed Neurosciences & Stroke IMC/PCU
• Assignment Type: Travel RN Contract
• Start Date: January 26, 2026
• End Date: April 27, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Nursing Shift: 3x12-hour nights (18:30 – 07:00), 36 hours/week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Charting System: Cerner

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in cardiac stepdown, IMC, or PCU nursing jobs
• At least 1 prior travel nurse assignment required
• Active DC RN license (pending accepted with proof, must be in hand by start date)
• BLS certification (required)
• Preferred: ACLS, NIHSS, BSN
• Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (minimum 80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms)
• Experience with Cerner charting system
• Ability to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Two supervisor references required
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with neurosurgery, neurology, stroke, and diverse medical conditions (sepsis, cardiac arrhythmias, oncology complications, diabetes, heart failure)
• Interpret and manage cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias
• Perform phlebotomy, IV starts, and manage peripheral/PICC lines
• Deliver care for tracheostomy, feeding tubes, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy
• Complete orientation and required modules prior to independent practice
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner
• Float to other nursing units as needed based on patient acuity
