Travel Nurse Job Details

Location: Battle Creek, Michigan 49017
Healthcare Setting: 15-bed LDRP unit, 3 triage bays, 2 operating rooms
Contract Length: 13 weeks (with potential extension)
Start Date: January 26, 2026 (or January 12, 2026)
Nursing Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (19:00 - 07:30)
Hours per Week: 36
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
On-Site Registered Nurse Position
Scrubs Provided

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Michigan Registered Nurse license
At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery, OB, and Mother/Baby nursing experience
Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, AWHONN Intermediate and/or NCC C-EFM
Preferred: AWHONN Advanced certification
Experience with circulating and fetal heart monitoring triage required; scrub nurse experience preferred
Ability to float to other healthcare units, including Bronson Methodist Hospital (within 27 miles)
Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions accepted)
Must be available every other weekend
No requested time off during the first 8 days of contract

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care in all areas of LDRP: antepartum, labor and delivery, OR circulating, scrub nurse, newborn care, and couplet care
Perform lab draws and newborn hearing screens (training provided on ALGO 5 machine)
Float as a sitter within the facility and to nearby hospitals as needed
Document patient care using EPIC electronic health records
Follow AWHONN guidelines for staffing and patient ratios
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
Maintain high standards of patient safety and quality care throughout the unit
