Location: Fort Wayne, IN (46802) – Indiana healthcare jobs
Position: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (Med/Surg RN)
Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Contract

Shift: 12 Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Size: 26 beds
Patient Ratio: Up to 6:1
Scrub Color: Blue
EMR: Cerner (preferred)
Floating: Required (Medical Surgical or ED holding)
Block Scheduling: Available

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Indiana RN license – Registered Nurse jobs in Indiana
Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical nursing experience
Ability to float to Med/Surg or ED holding units as needed
Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
Travel nurses must reside more than 50 miles from facility
Submit required RN license, certifications, and driver's license with application

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide safe, compassionate, and effective nursing care to patients in a Medical Surgical setting
Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members for optimal patient outcomes
Float to other units (Med/Surg or ED holding) as required
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EMR
Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and infection control standards
