Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details
- Location: Cleveland, Ohio 44195 (Ohio nursing jobs)
- Healthcare Setting: HVTI-Stepdown Unit (J8-1 Vascular Surgical Stepdown)
- Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: January 30, 2026
- End Date: May 1, 2026
- Shifts: 3x12-hour shifts per week (rotating days and nights: 7am-7:30pm / 7pm-7:30am; facility will honor shift preference when possible)
- Hours per Week: 36
- On-Site Nursing Position
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 18 months of recent, permanent Cardiac Stepdown RN experience (travel nursing experience accepted)
- Active Registered Nurse license in Ohio or Compact State RN license
- Current AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (must be active)
- One supervisory reference (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director) in Cardiac Stepdown required
- Must pass ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Ability to work at least every other holiday during assignment
- Background check and fingerprinting required prior to start
Cardiac Stepdown Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients, monitoring and responding to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications, manage cardiac drips, and perform advanced cardiac monitoring
- Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, procedures, and post-discharge care
- Accurately document all patient care activities in the electronic medical record
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with hospital policies
