Med/Surg RN Job Details

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Ohio RN license preferred)
• BLS Certification (required before first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required before first shift)
• Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in a Med/Surg setting (2 years preferred)
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized patient care plans
• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care in accordance with hospital protocols and safety standards
• Supervise and support Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
• Participate in interdisciplinary healthcare team conferences and patient rehabilitation programs
• Initiate and coordinate discharge planning and patient/family education
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses
• Promote a safe healthcare environment by adhering to hospital safety policies and procedures
• Demonstrate nursing leadership by providing direction and reassurance to staff, patients, and families
• Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to a positive healthcare team culture
