PCU Registered Nurse Job Details
- Location: Liberty, Missouri 64068 (Kansas City area)
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Assignment Type: Travel nursing job
- Duration: 13 weeks (Start: February 1, 2026; End: May 3, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Major holidays (flexibility possible)
- On-call Requirement: None
- Floating Requirement: First to float to lower acuity units
- Orientation: Comprehensive 4-day orientation for travel nurses
PCU RN Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent PCU RN experience required
- High acuity drip experience preferred
- Experience with arterial lines and bipap-airvo devices preferred
- Active Registered Nurse license (Missouri or compact state)
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Nicotine-free healthcare facility
- No new graduate nurses accepted
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care in the Progressive Care Unit
- Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced cardiac and respiratory support
- Administer and titrate high acuity drips
- Utilize and manage arterial lines, bipap, and airvo devices
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Float to lesser acuity units as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to facility policies
