PCU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Liberty, Missouri 64068 (Kansas City area)
• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing job
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: February 1, 2026; End: May 3, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Major holidays (flexibility possible)
• On-call Requirement: None
• Floating Requirement: First to float to lower acuity units
• Orientation: Comprehensive 4-day orientation for travel nurses

PCU RN Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU RN experience required
• High acuity drip experience preferred
• Experience with arterial lines and bipap-airvo devices preferred
• Active Registered Nurse license (Missouri or compact state)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Nicotine-free healthcare facility
• No new graduate nurses accepted

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in the Progressive Care Unit
• Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced cardiac and respiratory support
• Administer and titrate high acuity drips
• Utilize and manage arterial lines, bipap, and airvo devices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Float to lesser acuity units as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to facility policies
