ICU RN Job Details

• Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan 49048
• Healthcare Setting: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – Surgical ICU, Neuro ICU, Cardiac ICU
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
• Start Date: January 26, 2026
• End Date: April 27, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Nursing Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday required
• Floating: May float to ICU stepdown or other critical care units
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
• Charting System: Cerner Powerchart

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience (first-time travel nurses welcome)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Michigan or compact state, or willingness to obtain)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: TNCC, CRRT
• Proficiency in basic dysrhythmia testing
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)

ICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric ICU patients
• Manage critical cases: post-STEMI, stroke, trauma, overdose, DKA, sepsis, and post-surgical patients
• Float between Surgical ICU, Neuro ICU, Cardiac ICU, and ICU stepdown units as needed
• Perform advanced ICU procedures: arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, blood product administration
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Cerner Powerchart
• Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday coverage
• Complete required orientation and pre-start modules
