- Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan 49048
- Healthcare Setting: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – Surgical ICU, Neuro ICU, Cardiac ICU
- Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
- Start Date: January 26, 2026
- End Date: April 27, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Nursing Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday required
- Floating: May float to ICU stepdown or other critical care units
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
- Charting System: Cerner Powerchart
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience (first-time travel nurses welcome)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Michigan or compact state, or willingness to obtain)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Preferred certifications: TNCC, CRRT
- Proficiency in basic dysrhythmia testing
- Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
- Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)
ICU RN Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric ICU patients
- Manage critical cases: post-STEMI, stroke, trauma, overdose, DKA, sepsis, and post-surgical patients
- Float between Surgical ICU, Neuro ICU, Cardiac ICU, and ICU stepdown units as needed
- Perform advanced ICU procedures: arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, blood product administration
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Cerner Powerchart
- Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday coverage
- Complete required orientation and pre-start modules
