- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,160 – $2,270
- Openings: 1
- Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend; holidays discussed upon hire
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required, including LDRP model experience preferred
- Active RN license that meets New York state requirements
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, C-EFM required
- Comfortable functioning in the OR and serving as baby RN when needed
- Experience with maternal-newborn assessment, fetal monitoring, and newborn stabilization
- Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and documentation skills in electronic health records
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum phases
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being using continuous electronic fetal monitoring and escalate concerns promptly
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as ordered; support pain management and patient comfort
- Assist providers during vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including in the OR setting; act as baby RN as needed
- Deliver newborn care and stabilization, including neonatal resuscitation per NRP protocols
- Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, infant care, and safe sleep practices
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, patient-centered outcomes
- Document accurately in electronic health records in accordance with unit standards and patient safety protocols
